Prep an agenda that actually fits in the time you have

Most agendas are a wish list of topics, not a plan for what fits in 30 minutes.

Use it for
Anyone running a meeting who wants to actually get through the agenda instead of running out of time.

Agendas are often built by listing everything relevant, without checking whether it actually fits the time allotted — which produces meetings that either run over or cut the last, sometimes most important, item under time pressure. This prompt time-boxes the agenda honestly before the meeting starts, so cuts get made calmly instead of improvised at the end.

When not to use this

For a short, informal check-in with one or two topics, this is more process than the meeting needs — just talk. This is for a meeting with enough on the agenda that fit is genuinely in question.

Did this work?

You know before the meeting starts whether the agenda actually fits, and if not, what's already been cut or deferred rather than discovering the mismatch live.
