Take a vague idea to something concrete enough to actually pitch

Divergence without convergence is just a longer list of vague ideas.

Outcome
A genuinely developed concept, stress-tested against the obvious objection, ready to actually present rather than a still-fuzzy notion.
Time
45-60 minutes

Idea development often stops at divergence — generating options — without the equally important convergence step of actually developing one option into something concrete and pressure-tested. This playbook runs both: first genuinely diverging into different concrete versions of a vague idea, then converging by developing the strongest one and stress-testing it against the obvious objection, so what comes out the other end is actually pitchable.

When not to use this

If you already have a specific, developed concept and just need feedback, skip to the stress-test step. This is for when the idea is still genuinely vague.

Did this work?

You have a specific, developed concept you could pitch in two minutes, with the obvious objection already addressed, not a still-vague notion dressed up with enthusiasm.

Tested on claude-opus-5. Evidence status is draft; it moves to battle-tested only on recorded runs, never by hand.
